With this, all villagers present at the night halt programme resolved to end the age-old practice in which women wore veils that covered their faces partially or even fully. The night halt programme was held as per Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s direction to deputy commissioners and superintendents of police earlier this year to spend a night every month in a village in their jurisdiction. 2 days after woman dies in Faridabad accident, truck driver still on the run

More than 48 hours after a 32-year-old woman died and three others were injured in an accident involving a 16-wheeler dumper truck and three other vehicles in Haryana’s Faridabad, the police on Thursday lodged an FIR against the truck driver, who is absconding. The accident took place early Tuesday morning at an intersection in Sector 21C near Ankhir Chowk. According to Jasbir Singh, Station House Officer, Ankhir police post, the truck first crashed into a school bus that was on its way to pick up children. The bus then rammed into a car and a pickup truck, he added.
