Ten years after he was duped with fake overseas gig, man arrested over Rs 88-lakh employment fraud
In 2015, Jakir Daud Khan, a Class 9 dropout, applied for a visa through an agent who promised him an overseas gig. He soon realised he had been defrauded. On Thursday, ten years after being at the receiving end himself, he was arrested for allegedly duping multiple people with fake promises of jobs outside the country, the Delhi Police said.
Jakir Daud Khan, police said, was associated with a firm identified as Fiza Placement Pvt. Limited in 2021. The company was allegedly involved in defrauding people with fake employment opportunities. However, both the company’s and Jakir’s alleged fraud came to light when a complaint was filed in September 2021.
