Domestic Carriers Allowed To Operate At 65% Passenger Capacity From Current 50%: Centre

New Delhi: Considering the increasing passengers' demand for domestic air travel, the central government on Monday anounced to increase the capacity of domestic civil aviation operations from 50 per cent to 60 per cent. In an official notice issued on Monday, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said that domestic carriers can now operate at 65 per cent passenger capacity from the current 50 per cent. "After review of the curret status of schedules Domestic Operations viz-aviz passenger demand for air travel in terms of purpose specified in the initial order...is further modified as - 50% capacity may be read as 65% capacity," the notice read. The order further stated that it shall take effect from the date of issue of the order and shall be applicable upto July 31, 2021 o...
