In Capital to study MCD’s waste management practices, Karnataka Deputy CM, officials call on Delhi mayor
The MCD civic centre on Minto Road had an unusual visitor on Monday: Senior Congress leader and Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who had come to meet Delhi Mayor and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Raja Iqbal Singh.
He was accompanied by a delegation of 10 to 15 officials of the Greater Bengaluru Authority who were here to study the solid waste management and town planning measures adopted by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
“Delhi is a historic and huge city, and its population is much higher than Bengaluru’s. We have come to study the work being done by Delhi’s Municipal Corporation on three points: Solid waste management, town planning, and building bylaws,” Shivakumar said.
