Ajit Agarkar appointed chairman of Team India’s senior selection committee | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Former India all-rounder Ajit Agarkar was on Tuesday appointed as the chief selector of the Team India's senior men’s selection committee."The three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), consisting of Sulakshana Naik, Ashok Malhotra, and Jatin Paranjape, recommended his name after the interviews for the said position," stated a BCCI media release.The committee further recommended Agarkar for the role of chairman based on the seniority (total number of Test matches).Agarkar represented the country in 26 Tests, 191 ODIs, and four T20Is, in addition to playing 110 first-class, 270 List A, and 62 T20 matches.Agarkar's appointment will mean that West Zone will have two selectors with Salil Ankola being the other one. No more ad-hoc appointments, Indian women’s cricket team support staff to be offered long-term contracts | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The BCCI will do away with the practice of appointing support staff of the Indian women's cricket team on an ad-hoc basis and instead offer them long-term contacts.As per the BCCI constitution, the head coach is supposed to be picked by the Cricket Advisory Committee while the selectors pick the support staff.However, the rule regarding the women's team support staff -- batting, fielding and bowling coach -- has not been followed strictly in the past with the BCCI appointing coaches from the National Cricket Academy on a temporary basis."All the coaches will be given long-term contracts and it will not a temporary arrangement like we have seen in the past.
