Suvendu Adhikari in violence hit Murshidabad, victims’ family accepts relief money from him

The family of Haragobindo Das, 77, who was killed along with his 40-year-old son Chandan Das, during April 11 violence in the Samserganj area of Murshidabad district of West Bengal, on Saturday accepted Rs 20 lakh monetary help from BJP. The Das family has, however, refused to accept Rs 10 lakh compensation announced by the TMC government in the state. Nandigram Ram temple: BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari lays foundation stone

Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari Sunday laid the foundation stone of a Ram Temple at Nandigram in Purba Medinipur district on the occasion of Ram Navami. Adhikari is the BJP MLA from Nandigram. The foundation stone for the Ram Temple was laid at Sonachura village, where at least seven people, protesting land acquisition, had died in firing on January 6, 2007. Amid loud chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’, Adhikari, draped in saffron laid the foundation of the temple.
