Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde hailed the extradition of the mastermind of 26/11 attack Tahawwur Rana to India and said that there is no doubt that Rana would get severe punishment.

“The mastermind of the biggest terrorist attack on our country—the 26/11 attacks—Tahawwur Rana has been brought to India. For this, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister of our nation, @narendramodi. About a month ago, a discussion took place between Prime Minister Modi and the President of the United States, @realDonaldTrump. As a result of that, the United States has extradited the most wanted criminal of India. I also extend my appreciation to India’s External Affairs Minister, @DrSJaishankar, for this. There is no doubt that Tahawwur Rana, who is responsible for the attack on the world’s largest democracy, will be given severe punishment,” Shinde posted on X.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut also hailed the extradition and demanded that Rana should be hanged immediately and claimed the government will do so during Bihar elections.

Raut also demanded that now Kulbhushan Jadhav, who was captured in 2016 and was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court for alleged spying, be brought back to India and demanded that now the government should also bring economic fugitives Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi to India.

“Rana should be immediately hanged but he will be hanged during the Bihar polls,” Raut said, further adding that the extradition process was started during the Congress rule and no one should take a credit of the extradition which he said is the result of a 16-year-old battle.

Shiv Sena UBT MP Priyanka Chaturvedi too hailed the extradition of Rana and termed it a step towards closure and justice for the families of the terror attack and Mumbai city.

“As 26/11 accused Tahawwur Rana is extradited from the US to India, after a 16 year fight to bring him back, as a Mumbaikar I feel it is a step towards closure and justice for the families of the terror attack and for my beloved city. Now for David Headley, Hafiz Saeed to be dragged back here and face their punishment,” Chaturvedi said in a post on X.

Chaturvedi also demanded that Rana should be executed in public for the heinous crime he committed.
