NEW DELHI: Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was lodged at the Patiala central jail on Friday, did not have dinner on the first night inside the prison, sources told PTI on Saturday. Sources said that during his first night in jail, Sidhu did not eat dinner since he had already taken his meal. They said that Sidhu was lodged in barrack No. 10 with four other prisoners. His prisoner number is 1,37,683. Sidhu had surrendered before the Patiala court on Friday, a day after the Supreme Court sentenced him to one-year rigorous imprisonment in a 34-year-old road rage case. Haryana: Three workers killed in Faridabad factory fire

Three people were killed after a fire broke out at a battery-cell producing factory in Faridabad Saturday, the police said. According to fire department officials, they received information about the blaze around 11am, following which several fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Faridabad police spokesperson Sube Singh said, “Several police personnel and fire department officials reached the spot and cordoned off the area for search and rescue operations. The factory was completely gutted in the fire. After the fire was brought under control, police teams went inside the building and recovered three bodies. NEW DELHI: Digital financial services firm One97 Communications, which operates under Paytm brand, on Saturday said it has formed a joint venture general insurance company in which it has committed to invest Rs 950 crore over a period of 10 years. The proposal to set up joint venture firm Paytm General Insurance Limited (PGIL) was approved by the board on May 20, the company said in a regulatory filing. Initially, One97 Communications (OCL) will hold a 49 per cent stake in PGIL while the rest 51 per cent stake is to be owned by OCL's managing director Vijay Shekhar Sharma-led VSS Holding Private Limited (VHPL).
