
Light rain lashed parts of Delhi-NCR Tuesday evening, with some areas also witnessing gusty winds.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded 6 mm rainfall at Pitampura, 5.6 mm at Palam, 2 mm at Delhi University, 1 mm at SPS Mayur Vihar, 0.6 mm at Safdarjung and 0.5 mm each at Narela and Najafgarh.
Gurgaon recorded 0.5 mm of rainfall.
The Capital saw gusty winds accompanying the evening showers. Pitampura station reported wind speeds of 50 kmph, followed by Palam at 46 kmph. Jafarpura in Southwest Delhi and Lodhi Road in South Delhi reported winds blowing at 35 kmph.
The IMD said intense convective activity was observed over Delhi, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh — a sign of vertical transport of heat and moisture in the atmosphere.
The weather department has ruled out any heatwave conditions in Delhi for the next seven days.
A partly cloudy sky with sustained surface winds reaching up to 35 kmph has been forecast on Wednesday and Thursday.
A gradual dip of 1 to 2 degrees Celsius in temperatures is likely by the weekend, it added.

Delhi on Tuesday recorded a maximum of 40.2 degrees Celsius — 0.7 notches above normal. The minimum settled at 27.7 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal.
Rainfall is expected again on Friday, accompanied by gusty winds up to 50 kmph during thunderstorms.
Thereafter, partly cloudy skies are forecast between May 17 and 19, with temperatures expected to hover between 27 and 40 degrees Celsius.
