KKR lost the toss in eight of the nine games they played at the Eden Gardens and incredibly ended up winning seven of these matches. In the only game where they won the toss, KKR batted second. In the other eight instances where the opposition was favoured by the coin flip, KKR batted first in five games, winning three. They remained unbeaten in chases, winning all three.

However, that hardly helped on the field as SRH lost all five games where they won the toss away from home. Quite interestingly, SRH won four of the five away matches where they lost the toss, batting first on all five occasions!
