Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday attacked the “three families” of Jammu and Kashmir politics amid the ongoing assembly elections. In a veiled dig at the Abdullahs, the Muftis, and the Gandhis, PM Modi said that the three families used to snatch the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
PM Modi was addressing his first public meeting in the Kashmir Valley since the abrogation of Article 370. He is in Kashmir for the second phase of polling in J&K, scheduled for September 25. PM Modi said earlier all campaigning used to stop after 5 PM. Today, campaigning goes on till late night.

PM Modi said the Congress, the National Conference, and the People’s Democratic Party have nothing to show, except failure. “They only divided the country… There was a time when people were scared to come to Lal Chowk and hoist the Tricolour. Now, the situation has changed… We are challenging the dynastic parties. The dynastic parties want to bring back the old times,” he said.
He said that a large number of people voted in the first phase of the Jammu and Kashmir elections and that these voters were strengthening democracy. He also said that more government jobs will be available in Kashmir if BJP is voted to power.
The first phase of the Jammu And Kashmir election on Wednesday, September 18, recorded a 61% voter turnout, which was the highest ever in the region.
