Sabyasachi Mukherjee is synonymous with grandeur, timeless craftsmanship, and an unmistakable Indian aesthetic. His Kolkata flagship store, a stunning embodiment of his 25-year-old brand, takes this vision to an entirely new level.

A recent video by VJ-turned-content-creator Shenaz Treasurywala has given fans an exclusive glimpse into the opulent interiors of the designer’s homegrown fashion haven—and the internet can’t stop talking about it!

A store that feels like a palace

Located on Lake Road in Kolkata, the store is nothing short of a fashion temple. Shenaz describes it as a space filled with “chandeliers dripping in elegance, antique photo frames that should belong in a museum, and the kind of velvet sofas that make you feel rich.” Every corner is packed with regal touches, from handwoven textiles to intricate woodwork that pays homage to India’s artistic heritage.

The colour red dominates the store, symbolising both Sabyasachi’s signature aesthetic and the city of Kolkata itself. The store’s staircase alone is a ‘red carpet moment’ waiting to happen, as Shenaz excitedly points out in her Instagram video.

Sabyasachi’s Kolkata flagship doesn’t just exude luxury—it literally runs on it! Shenaz revealed that the monthly rent for this space is rumored to be over ₹20 lakh. To put things into perspective, Hindustan Times had reported in 2022 that Sabyasachi’s Mumbai store’s estimated rent is close to ₹2 crore per month. Clearly, luxury at this level comes with a hefty price tag.

Of course, visiting a Sabyasachi store means stepping into a world of exclusive fashion. Shenaz decided to try on a ₹8 lakh lehenga, joking that her mom would have “fainted on the spot.” The most expensive jewelry pieces? ₹4 crore! Every element inside the store screams indulgence, from couture bridal wear to meticulously crafted fine jewelry.

Whether you’re a Sabyasachi fan, a bride-to-be, or simply someone who appreciates world-class craftsmanship, the Kolkata flagship store is an experience in itself. As Shenaz put it, “Sabyasachi did not just build a store, he created a freaking temple.” Even if you’re not shopping for your wedding, visiting this store is like stepping into a royal fashion dreamland
