

Delhi News Live Updates: The national capital remains on high-alert, with the security heightened across all popular tourist spots, following a brutal terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam yesterday evening. Traffic movement has been regulated in all sensitive zones across Delhi, and surveillance as well as security at border checkpoints have been ramped up. The local police, meanwhile, have been asked to remain on alert in high footfall areas like markets, railway stations, and airport. Delhi Police Special Cell’s SWAT commandos have also been deployed in several areas to prevent any untoward incident.
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta condoles Pahalgam attack deaths: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Tuesday expressed her anguish over the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, condoling the deaths of 26 tourists in Pahalgam. Gupta posted on X, “Deeply anguished to learn about the terrorist attacks on tourists in Kashmir’s Pahalgam. My thoughts are with those who lost their close ones and prayers for the swift recovery of those injured. These cowardly, barbaric attacks will not go unanswered.”
Heatwave warning in Delhi today: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), meanwhile, has issued a heatwave warning in Delhi, with the temperature expected to remain above normal till Friday this week. The air quality was recorded in the “poor” category at 9 am today with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 220, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data showed.
