The BJP on Wednesday held demonstrations across the state to protest the terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives including six tourists from Maharashtra.
The BJP minorities morcha took the lead to protest outside the party headquarters with its president Washim Khan and vice-president Salman Khan demanding strong action against perpetrators.
“ Such cowardly acts in the name of religion needs the highest condemnation. The terrorists have no religion. They are criminals,” Khan said.
Mumbai BJP secretary Shah Alam said that those indulging in such acts are doing more harm to Islam.
“The terrorists’ act of making Hindus read kalma forcibly goes against Islam. The religion does not allow killing of persons for not reading religious text. Even Prophet Mohammad was against the use of coercive methods in the name of religion,” he said.
The Mumbai North unit of the party also held a protest urging the Centre to take strong action to eliminate terrorism.
