Bank Holidays in September 2024: During the month of September, banks are scheduled to remain closed for a total of 14 days due to both national and regional holidays.
Individuals are advised to plan their bank related errands and appointments in the month in accordance with the complete bank holiday list given below. Owing to the Milad-un-Nabi or Id-e Milad festival coming on September 16 following the second Saturday, many regions in the country will see banks closed for atleast a 3-day long weekend. Therefore, planning around these holidays in advance will help customers execute their financial errands without any inconvenience.
The holiday list is issued by the central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). These holidays are decided by the banking regulator on the basis of festivals, regional celebrations, and overall weekend holidays.
Typically, banks across the country are closed on all Sundays and weekend holidays such as second and fourth Saturday. This list also includes festivals, national holidays, in addition to these leaves.
