On the occasion, the Board of Cricket Council of India (BCCI) secretary, Jay Shah, took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to convey his heartfelt wishes and praise the cricketer’s unwavering determination and “never-give-up attitude.”

Hardik, who made his T20I debut against Australia on January 26, 2016, and his ODI debut later that same year on October 16 against New Zealand, has been a prominent figure in the Indian cricketing arena.
In the ODI format, he has played 83 matches, amassing 1,769 runs with an average of 34.01. He has also made his mark as a bowler, claiming 80 wickets at an economy rate of 5.53.
Hardik has been an integral part of the T20I team, featuring in 92 matches. He has displayed his batting prowess with 1,348 runs, including three half-centuries, and has proven to be a valuable asset with the ball, taking 73 wickets at an economy rate of 8.16.
