Napoli striker Victor Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda threatened legal action against the Italian club after it had shared a since-deleted post mocking the Nigerian.
The post which was shared from the TikTok account of the club showed Osimhen missing a penalty against Bologna along with a high pitched voice saying “gimme penalty please” dubbed on it.
“What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted. We reserve the right to take legal action and any other useful initiative to protect Victor,” Caldena said on X, formerly Twitter.
Osimhen, who was instrumental in helping Napoli win the Scudetto after 33 years last season, missed a late penalty in a goalless draw against Bologna in Serie A on Sunday.
He was substituted as the game drew to a close and appeared to protest the decision, shouting at coach Rudi Garcia before leaving the pitch. The French manager, however, played down the situation.
The striker had joined Napoli for 81.3m euros in 2020 and had scored 26 goals in 32 league appearances last season.
This season, he has scored 3 goals from 6 matches so far with defending champions Napoli seventh in the standings and will play Udinese at home on Wednesday.
