Watch: How Harmanpreet Kaur survived despite ball hitting the stump | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: You have to feel for the bowler when the ball touches the stumps and the bail pops up off its groove but it doesn’t come off. The Women’s Premier League match between Mumbai Indians and UP Warriorz on Sunday witnessed such an incident when Harmanpreet Kaur had a lucky escape.
In the 11th over of Mumbai’s innings, UP bowler Anjali Sarvani bowled a slower one down the leg side as Harmanpreet missed the flick. The stumps lit up after the ball touched it and wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy even started celebrating but the bail did not dislodge as Harmanpreet got a reprieve.

Talking about the match, MI continued their unbeaten run in the tournament with their fourth victory in as many matches.
Chasing 159, Harmanpreet led from the from with an 53 not out off 33 balls and shared unbeaten 106-run stand with Nat Sciver-Brunt (45*) as Mumbai romped home in 17.3 overs with eight wickets in hand.
Earlier, Warriorz skipper Alyssa Healy struck her second WPL half-century, while Tahlia McGrath too scored a strokeful fifty as the team made 159 for 6.
