With an eight-wicket win in the Karachi Test, England became the first team to sweep Pakistan on their home soil.
Rehan, who made his debut for Enghland in the final Test, stole the show with his impactful leg-spin bowling as he bagged 7 wickets including 5 for 48 (second innings) in his first game that helped England clinch series.
With the fifer in the second innings, 18-year-old Rehan became the youngest debutant in men’s Test history to take five wickets in a single inning, beating the previous record held by Australia’s Pat Cummins.
Here’s a look at the profile of the latest sensation in international cricket.
Name: Rehan Ahmed
Date of birth: August 13, 2004, Nottingham
Playing role: Bowling all-rounder

Rehan’s father Naeem Ahmed, a former cricketer, was born in Pakistan and played as a fast-bowling all-rounder before moving to England. In his early days Rehan wanted to emulate his father and tried becoming a seamer before taking up leg-spin.
After being in the youth set-up at Nottinghamshire, Rehan joined Leicestershire in 2017. Prior to his debut against Pakistan, Rehan had only played three first-class matches after making his debut in May 2022 in which he took a fifer and slammed a century.
The teen all-rounder was also part of the England U19 team in the 2022 World Cup in West Indies where he played 4 out of 6 matches and took 12 wickets.
Playing for England Lions, Rehan first impressed the coaches in a three-day warm-up match against the England Test squad held in Abu Dhabi. He was also invited to bowl at the nets during the England vs West Indies Test series, where he clean bowled Ben Stokes.
Earlier this year in April, Rehan was also bought by the Southern Brave for the 2022 season in The Hundred.
Teams: England, England Lions, U19 England, Leicestershire, Leicestershire 2nd XI and Southern Brave.
Siblings: Rehan has 2 brothers Farhan Ahmed and Raheem Ahmed who are also cricketers.
