NEW DELHI: The cricketing world bid adieu to the legendary Shane Warne on Wednesday as thousands of people gathered at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground to pay tribute to one of the game’s finest players, one final time.
IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals, who Warne captained when the IPL began and led to the title in 2008 also paid a heartfelt tribute, reminding their players the legacy and the aura that the ‘First Royal’ has left behind.
Ahead of their tournament opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 29, the franchise remembered Warne in an emotional gathering, reliving and sharing some of his many iconic moments at the franchise as a player and a leader.

Aussie legend Shane Warne died in Thailand on March 4 of a suspected heart attack.
Warne played 55 matches for the Royals between 2008–2012 apart from representing Australia in 145 Tests in which he took 708 wickets.
