South Africa-bound players train at BKC | Cricket News – Times of India

MUMBAI: India’s batting stars Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul, who all missed the home Test series against New Zealand due to various reasons, got into training mode ahead of the South Africa tour, as they went through a rigorous net session at the Mumbai Cricket Association’s facility at BKC on Wednesday.
India’s Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane -he didn’t play the second Test at the Wankhede Stadium against the Kiwis due to a ‘hamstring injury’ – also trained with the bunch.
While Rohit and Pant were given a break post the T20I series at home against New Zealand to recover from ‘bubble fatigue,’ Rahul, as per the BCCI, had sustained a muscle strain on his left thigh’ and was thus ruled out of the series. Rohit and Pant apparently enjoyed the break with a trip to Alibaug, where the Mumbaikar bought a farmhouse last year.
“All of them trained hard at the nets from 2pm to 4.30pm. Since the main ground was hosting a Vijay Hazare Trophy game between Orissa and Andhra, the players batted in the nets facility,” a source told TOI.
