After Covid, isolation for Pakistan

England’s scheduled tour of Pakistan in mid-October for two T20Is – men and women double-headers – has been cancelled, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Monday. Once New Zealand had cancelled their tour on the day of the first ODI at Rawalpindi, England’s withdrawal became a formality, although the ECB had spoken about discussing the matter last weekend. Both countries used the same security agency, ESI Security headed by Reg Dickason. The ECB released a statement today, confirming the pull-out. “The ECB has a longstanding commitment to touring Pakistan as part of the Men’s Future Tours Programme in 2022. Knight takes King: Kohli falls as Challengers embarrassed by inspired KKR

Pace bowlers operating with intensity and aggression, spinners bamboozling batsmen with their variations. When a team looking to turn its fortunes around faces a destructive opposition, it pays to always think of taking wickets. The approach reaped rich dividends as Royal Challengers Bangalore were bundled out for a mere 92 and Kolkata Knight Riders cantered to a nine-wicket win with as many as 10 overs still left to play. In addition to the two points, the effect it had on net run rate can’t be ignored. Aggression with ball Kolkata Knight Riders, in seventh place at the restart, came out all guns blazing with the ball against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Situation was tough, glad I could take up responsibility: Ruturaj Gaikwad | Cricket News – Times of India

DUBAI: Young opener Ruturaj Gaikwad is glad that he could take up the responsibility of guiding Chennai Super Kings to an eventual winning total from a "tough situation" against reigning champions Mumbai Indians in their opening match of the second phase of IPL. "Obviously the situation was tough as most of the top-order batsmen got out. I had to take the responsibility and then find a way how can we reach up to 120-130," Gaikwad told teammate Deepak Chahar in a video posted on IPL website. "And after spending some time on the crease the target got extended by 10 runs every time, 140-150 looked possible then." Gaikwad took up the ...
