JAMMU: Alert troops of Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday shot at and detained a Pakistani intruder trying to enter the Indian territory from across the international border in Jammu’s R S Pura sector. He was later hospitalized for a bullet injury.
A BSF spokesperson said that security personnel observed suspicious movement of the Pakistani national near border post number 942 as the man was making desperate attempts to cross the fence. “The intruder was warned to stop but he did not pay attention. He was subsequently fired upon, due to which he got a minor injury,” the spokesperson said. BSF troops later apprehended him and handed him over to the police and was hospitalized. During preliminary questioning, the intruder disclosed his identity as Shabbir (40).
Earlier on March 21, BSF troops had apprehended a Pak intruder along the international border in Jammu’s Ramgarh sector. Another intruder was killed by BSF troops in Samba sector at a forward post in Ramgarh on March 16. Prior to this, on February 8, BSF troops had shot dead a Pakistani intruder along the international border in Samba sector.
