A recent leak suggests that Bose is planning to enter into the gaming headset segment with the gaming version of its QC 35II ANC headphone. Likely to be named as Bose QC35II Gaming Headset, it is expected to rock a similar design to the standard version of the headphone launched around three years back.
9to5Google reported the new leak by dissecting the latest APK file of Bose Connect app version 12 which suggests that Bose is working on a new gaming headset based on Bose QC 35II. They also confirmed the name as Bose QC 35II as they found a small string inside the source code with that name on it. However, for most parts, the headphone was referred to as Tibbers, which we are assuming to be the codename of this gaming headset. Also, if you are a fan of the League of Legends game, you might notice that the Tibbers name is co-related to a character named Annie from the game.
In addition to this, the version 12 of Bose Connect app code also has something mentioned about gaming microphone along with a video that shows a small demo video of how the gaming microphone will be attached to the headset.
However, the real confusion here is whether the company is planning to launch an entirely new gaming headset or just the gaming microphone attachment for the existing QC35II headphone. Nothing has been confirmed by Bose yet. But, if Bose is actually working on a gaming headset, it could make the space more competitive.
