Samsung’s next A-series smartphone might come with optical image stabilization – Times of India

Samsung adding flagship-grade features to its mid-range Galaxy A-series is not a new concept. The company has recently revamped the entire A-series lineup with features and designs that are often found in more premium Galaxy S-series and Galaxy Note series smartphones. However, the latest rumour surfaced online that the company is once again planning to bring a flagship feature to A-series smartphones. According to a report by SamMobile, Samsung is planning to launch a new A-series smartphone with optical image stabilization.

The optical image stabilization(OIS) feature is usually found in flagship smartphones from several companies, including Samsung, as the addition of OIS makes the entire camera setup expensive. Hence, it increases the price of a particular smartphone.

Optical image stabilization comes in very handy while taking photos and videos as it is meant to compensate camera shakes allowing users to capture sharp-looking images even in low-light condition. It also helps in keeping video footage stable. Addition of OIS into a mid-range smartphone will give Samsung an edge over its competitors and will also improve the overall camera quality.

Samsung offers a wide range of smartphones under its A-series portfolio. As per the recent rumours, Galaxy A81 and Galaxy A91 are expected to inherit the new OIS feature and are expected to launch later this year.

For those unaware, Samsung has recently launched its Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 smartphones that are powered by an octa-core Exynos 9611 processor and come in different RAM and storage options.

The two smartphones also feature a design similar to the recently launched Galaxy S20-series, except the curved edge screen. Apart from this, the smartphones come with the quad rear camera setup.
