Garena announces Free Fire Battle Arena esports tournament: All you need to know – Times of India

Garena, the developer behind one of the most famous battle royale games, Free Fire, has announced a new esports tournament called Free Fire Battle Arena. This is an online squad mode tournament which will give participants a chance to win 300,000 diamonds as a prize. Free Fire Battle Arena tournament is open to all players on Indian server. This also includes players from Bangladesh and Nepal. Registrations will start from May 21 and go on till May 23.

Registration dates: May 21 to May 23

Open Qualifiers: May 21 to May 24
League matches: May 29 to June 5

Playoffs: June 7

Finals: June 14

Free Fire Battle Arena tournament format
Garena has not set any cap on the number of participants and players need to register in teams of 4-5 players for the open qualifiers stage. All teams will play the open qualifier round. The top 24 teams among these will advance to League stages.

In the League stages, the 24 teams will be divided into four groups, with six teams each. From each group, the top two teams will directly reach the finals. However, 3rd, 4th and 5th ranked teams from each group will compete in the Playoff round for the last four spots.

The 12 top teams will reach the Finals.

For those unaware, Free Fire is a battle royale game. It is available on both Android and iOS via their respective app stores.
