Victoria to ease restrictions on pubs within weeks

Pubs, clubs, cafes and restaurants in Victoria could reopen within two weeks with the state government poised to ease restrictions as early as June 1.

The Sunday Herald Sun reports the Andrews Government is expected to announce the opening date following a massive COVID-19 testing of 150,000 people aged 15-64.

Patrons would be subject to social distancing laws similar to those introduced in Queensland which includes a maximum of 10 patrons at any one time, staying 1.5m apart and one person per 4sq m.
