Apple unveils macOS Monterrey for MacBooks, brings new features to Safari, Universal Control – Times of India

Apple’s next big update to macOS will be called macOS Monterey, the company announced at WWDC 2021. macOS Monterey brings a host of new features to MacBooks, iMacs and Mac minis. Here are some of the key features coming to these devices with macOS Monterey:
AirPlay comes to Mac
AirPlay, a sharing feature, comes to Mac devices with macOS Monterey. Users can use AirPlay to play content — music, movies — from an iPhone to a Mac display.
Universal Control
Apple is giving its users an option to use multiple features across their devices with Universal Control. Users can drag and drop content, files, images from an iPad to Mac or from a Mac to iMac easily.
Shortcuts will be now available on Mac
For the first time, Shortcuts app will be made available on MacBooks with macOS Monterey. Apple said that this will be a part of a “multi-year transition”, which means that new features will be added to Shortcuts app over the year.
iOS 15 features to be used on Mac
With macOS Monterey, users will be able to access iOS 15 features like revamped FaceTime, notifications and SharePlay on their Mac devices.
A host of new features are coming to Safari with a new tab management system and new icons.
