As mercury breached the 40 degrees mark in various parts of Rajasthan, the Meteorological Department on Sunday warned of a severe heatwave and “very high” temperature for about half of the state.

The heat has imposed a sort of curfew on people who had just started getting out of their houses for essential work as some restrictions in the coronavirus-induced lockdown were relaxed.
