Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is going virtual this year with almost 12,000 hosts already signed up to be part of the Cancer Council fundraiser on Thursday.
The community event has been held in Australian homes for more than 20 years and last year an estimated 1.07 million teas and coffees were consumed to raise money for cancer research, prevention and support.
Current coronavirus restrictions mean large group catch-ups cannot go ahead but organisers are encouraging Queenslanders to host virtual morning teas with colleagues online, or consider a smaller event for up to five guests at home.
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is officially held on Thursday May 28, but hosts can pick a date that suits them to get together with friends.
