Maharashtra: Two Mumbai cops succumb to Covid-19

Two cops of Mumbai Police died on Wednesday due to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

One was a 57-year-old policeman from Parksite police station. For the last seven days he was admitted to a hospital in Andheri. After battling with Covid-19 for a week, he succumbed to the infection on Wednesday.

The other policeman was from Sahar traffic division who also died due to Covid-19.

There are more than 650 coronavirus cases in the Mumbai Police department.

The total tally of Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra stands at 1,388, which includes 142 police officers and 1,246 policemen.

So far, 428 policemen of the state have been discharged after they fully recovered.
